Our History
Sahaya Madha Church
The Parish of Mary Help of Christians Church in Medavakkam was bifurcated on 30th May 2004 from the Parish of Selaiyur. Fr. Cyriac Illmootil had purchased a piece of land in the year 1992 and built a thatched hut for the church, Fr. Alexis Manohar the first Parish Priest of Medavakkam built a small chapel and the Parish house. Due the place scarcity and the increase it the catholic population at the parish, Parish Priest Fr. L. John Benjamin has constructed a grand new church with all required amenities along with a ca parking area at the ground floor. The Church was blessed on 15.06.2016 b Most Rev. Dr. A. Neethinathan, Bishop of Chingleput.
